christmas was so fun i love christmas time. i thought i would say some of our family traditions at this wonderful time of year
lets start with we love picking a family to secret santa it is alot of fun to go and pick out stuff that that family would enjoy and running to drop of the gift with out being caught
we also get to open one gift on christmas eve it is always the same thing can you guess yes pj
i started a tradition of making my childrens pj what a mistake i am always up all night the night before tring to finish them
we have foundue which is so tasty
we read a letter that my grandma gives us about her youth with a love token (tree decoration)
but the most important thing that we do is dress up and act out the nativity and talk about the true meaning of christmas and why we celebrate at this time of year. how blessed we are to know of our saviour jesus christ and the things that he did for us.

christmas time

this is drews rosy cheeks after playing outside in the snow so much fun

why do i take on so much that i can't see above all the projects. but really i am not complaining i like to be busy. this is probably my most favorite time of year. i love the christmas lights the snow the rosy cheeks of kids playing out side. i love the excitment of the kids and my husband. i love the sewing projects. but most of all i love the spirit of christmas. i feel so lucky to have the gospel in my life.

this year for christmas we are going to my moms but everyone else is going to the other side of there families. and i am kind of sad that there won't be as many people around i look forward to the business of the season. but i am alittle excited for the relatationjavascript:void(0) of it all it will probably be alot quieter.

my biggest project this year is tring to make a sleeper for nixon the other pjs are just routine but a sleeper with out a sleeper pattern has been a little more difficult.

the things we take for granted

i have been sick for the last four days i can't believe how much we take for granted. i was so cold and achy i could hardly stand it i wanted to just crawl in a hole. the little every day things that i usually do i was not able to do like laundry dishes make dinner for my family sweep the floor. i have to say that i am so very grateful for mike i think that i have the best husband in the world he has just kind of taken over some of those things for me. he would come home from work and make dinner and then do the days worth of dishes. i am thankful to say that i am starting to feel better cause the laundry is pilling up and the floor need some attention.

katie looked beautiful and dylan looked good too. and i am looking forward to getting to know the newest member of our family.

lifes little miracles

so i guess i should take a minute and write about the birth of nixon the third member of our wounderful family. i actually was on my due date which was a huge shock cuz i never have it was about 10:30 at night when the contractions started to happen and i didn't believe it was real but by 1:00 in the morining i knew some thing was up so i called Kathy oler to come over with the other kids. (thanks kathy) we went to the hospital and i was dialated to a 5 or 6 that was awsome. but he still took his sweet little time to get here. he was born on sept. 12 at 7:30 in the morning we were so excited.
the rest of the story is so interesting we called cole and amanda to tell them and amanda went into labour about 8:00 and she ended up having her baby max around 12:30 so they were born on the same day and they weighed the exact same 7lbs 8oz. and after amanda had her baby we ended up sharing a room which was really nice to have some one to talk to. then the next day when we left the hospital the babies had both lost the same amount of weight which put them at 7lbs 1oz. things got even wierder the sunday after they were born the health nurse came by to weigh them and check up on us as moms and the babies wieghted the same once again. i think these two little boys were in heaven ploting this together you can just imagine what mistchef they will get into together in life.
they are both so cute and so much fun we love them both. it has been so fun to have some one to share this experince with and know that she is going through some of the same things at the same time as i am. i love you amanda and am so glad to have a sitter in law that i get along with so well. thanks

little things that make you smile

so i am finally going to put a picture of nixon on here. he is such a good baby. and mike helps out as much as posible he is only home in the evenigs for about an hour and a half before the kids have to go to bed but the first thing he dose when he walks in the door is take the baby so that he either stops screaming ( cuz no one is holding him) or takes him from me so that i can get something done. and at night him and nixon go to bed together and he puts nixon to sleep almost every night. i feel so lucky to have such a good guy for a husband.

I have a six week old baby boy named Nixon he is the third child to the family. with 3 kids seems to come alot more work aswell as a lot more smiles laughs and tears. but we love every minute of it. the other day nixon made eye contact with me and actually smiled not just one of those gas bubble smiles but a real smile and since then we try every thing in our power to get a smile from him, we have gotten a couple more. isen't funny how hard you try to get those smiles out of newborns we sure make a fool of our selves.

strecthy arms

mike and i and the kids went to calgary for a little vacation and for support to my brother dylan as he was made an elder. we stayed in a hotel and went swimming and shopping and just relaxed it was really fun the kids did not want to leave. drew could not understand how come we werent going back to the hotel instead of going home. while we were in calgary driving around we had drew sitting next to nixon in the bucket seats and nixon started to fuss and he was getting really mad so drew tried to reach over to get his soo soo (soother) and calm him down and then he says to us i can't do it i don't have strecthy arms. we thought that was pretty funny.

summer days

i was just looking through some of my pictures of things that we had done this summer and ran across these. we had so much fun on this hot hot hot day in august ( ok so it was a sunday but what was i supposed to do i was 8.5 months pregant and the weather was something like 37 degrees and every one was meserable and this was really nice) we went to one of the better spray parks in lethbridge with some friends of ours and there kids and we had a blast running through the water and visiting with the cool mist hitting us with just the right amount of water to cool of.

what i love about fall

the things that i love the most about fall
~leaves crunching under my feet
~raking the leaves and jumping in them(ok i don't really like the raking part)
~cool mornings and cool nights
~school starting again
~routine again after a fun filled no routine summer
~the beautiful colors that fall from the trees they are probably my favortite colors of all (brown, orange, green and red)
~and the thing that i love the very most is sweaters i love to wear hoodies ( i think it is cuz they hide all the imperfections)
the only thing i don't love about fall is that next comes the bitter cold months and the high bill that go along with it

never say never

I said that i would never have a blog cuz that is what every one is doing but never say never. so here i go i guess i will try this out and mostly for journaling reasons. I am hoping that i write on this blog more than i have writen in my journal in the past or everyone that looks at this will be really bored. ok this is confession time the last time i wrote in my journal was just after Madison was born and for those who don't know my family Madison is six and a half know. that is pretty bad.
